1. Check the packaging label
Generally, paper cups should be sealed in plastic packaging bags, which should not be damaged. Paper cups with loose packaging are prone to environmental pollution and hygiene cannot be guaranteed. The product packaging should indicate the name and address of the manufacturing enterprise, the execution standards of the product, the production date, and the validity period. The technical performance of paper cup products should comply with the QB/T2294-1997 "Paper Cup" standard, but the hygiene indicators must comply with GB11680-1989 "Hygienic Indicators of Raw Paper for Food Packaging".
2. Check appearance
The shape of the paper cup should be quite wide and should not deform. Additionally, it is important to choose paper cups with better body stiffness. A paper cup with poor body stiffness is very soft when pinched by hand. After pouring water or drinks, it will deform severely when held, and even cannot be lifted, affecting its use. When choosing a paper cup, you can gently squeeze the sides of the cup with your hand to roughly determine the stiffness of the cup body.
3. Check the hygiene situation
Disposable paper cups come into direct contact with the oral cavity, and hygiene checks are particularly important. The hygiene indicators for food packaging base paper have corresponding regulations on heavy metal content, fluorescent whitening agents, and some pathogenic bacteria. The hygiene condition of paper cups can only be accurately tested in the laboratory, and consumers cannot judge from their appearance. They should try to purchase products from legitimate manufacturers from legitimate shopping malls.
