1. Determine size specifications
Disposable paper cups are generally 220ml or 180ml, which means their upper mouth × Lower Mouth × Generally, the height is 75 × fifty-three × 90 or 70 × forty-nine × 78, measured in millimeters. Of course, the specific dimensions still need to be determined according to the actual design requirements. When calculating, the upper, lower, and height should be determined.
2. Determine the purpose
Disposable paper cups can be divided into two types: cold cups and hot cups. The surface of cold beverage paper cups needs to be treated with wax spraying or immersion, because cold drinks can cause water to accumulate on the surface of the paper cup, causing it to soften. After applying wax, it can be waterproof. Generally speaking, this wax is very stable and safe between 0 and 5 ℃, but it cannot be used to hold hot drinks, otherwise the wax will melt and the paper cup will absorb water and deform. The surface of the hot drink paper cup will be coated with a layer of nationally recognized special polyethylene film, which not only has good heat resistance but also is non-toxic when soaked in high-temperature beverages. We can perform surface treatment on paper cups according to different design requirements.
3. Determine printing method
There are three printing methods for paper products: offset printing, silk screen printing, and flexographic printing. Offset printing can be used for promotion, but it cannot be used for drinking water. Although silk screen printing is relatively good, it lacks in pattern processing and other aspects. Flexographic printing belongs to green printing and has less harm. The paper cups produced can be used to drink water. This type of printing is a common printing method nowadays, and it has a very good promotional effect. The production is also very simple and the cost is relatively low, so it is the most commonly used printing method for disposable paper cups.
